Systems Saber III Error

Post by DPH11 »

I am trying to program a Systems Saber III and keep getting "Serial Bus Communications Error! Could not acquire busy line. Turn radio Off then On to try again." I do, and the same message occurs. I am using the same computer, RIB, etc that I use for HT600s, MT1000s, HT1000/Visar, etc. so the computer shouldn't be the issue...

Any ideas or suggestions???

Thanks!

A number of possibilities:

You may be using the wrong cable. The Systems Saber uses the traditional Saber cable, not the Astro Saber cable. They look the same; they are pinned differently.

You may be trying to use the Saber RSS or the AstroSaber CPS; Systems Saber has its own RSS package.

You may be using an aftermarket cable or RIB, which will work for some radios but not for Sabers.

The radio battery may be weak.

If all else fails, take a look at the gold pots on the accessory connector and gently clean any that are dirty. Also, look closely at your cable as you try to connect it; sometimes (particularly with aftermarkets), the spring-loaded pin misses the pot.
