Software License Agreement through MOL ?

Post by MTS2000 »

Hi,

I just received my access to MOL tonight. I logged in and submitted the General Software License Agreement. My question is how long does it take for the different software CPS etc to show up on MOL? Do I have to wait for Motorola to update my MOL account first? Or do I have to call and order a subscription over the phone before it shows up on MOL?

Sorry for the questions I'm new to MOL. The last time I dealt with the License Agreement was back when they still had to mail or fax it to you.

Also sorry if this has been discussed before. I did search before posting but couldn't find any concrete answers.

Takes about a day or so...check under the radio you want to get software for, and look for the "software & programming" link, which should now appear. Just to let you know, the part number for MTS2000 software is RVN4176U.

Thanks for your response. I did the licensing agreement last night and have logged into my account several times today but still nothing shows up under the different radio models. So I guess I'm just in a waiting game to see when Motorola will update my account.

I also for kicks tried looking up that part number and it returned with zero records found for that part number. So I guess I will have to wait until they decide to add it to my account.

It wasn't clear to me from your original post, but you *did* order a subscription for the software you need, didn't you? It's never going to appear in your download area on MOL if it was never ordered.

Try the search without the last revision letter in the p/n (don't include the "U").

Do I have to order over the phone first before it shows up on MOL? I thought the software was supposed to show up in the online catalog under the different radios so you can see at least how much the subscription will cost? If so I'm not even getting that yet.

It's been my experience at least that you have to search by part number in the catalog to see the software. I've never seen it show up in the list

Ok got an email this morning saying that I've been authorized to purchase software from either MOL or by calling them. Logged into my MOL account to verify and here's what I've found.

Astro 25 software won't show up under XTS5000,2500, or 1500. But will show up under the PR1500 is this normal or should it be showing up under the other radio's as well? And Astro 25 mobile won't show up under the XTL5000, 2500, or 1500 but shows up under the PM1500 mobile same question as above?

Also the Astro Portable and Mobile for the Astro Saber and XTS3000 won't show up under either radio and also the Astro Spectra as well so same question as above should it be showing up since I've been authorized to purchase software or will I just have to do a search for it? And the above is just by looking through the online catalog haven't tried searching yet.

I also spoke to someone at Motorola before submitting this reply and he said that the software wouldn't show up under the XTS5000,2500, or 1500 since there higher tier radio's and that I would have to place some sort of special order however he used a different term in order to purchase a subscription. So basically what I'm asking is is the guy from Motorola correct or was he just feeding me a line just to get rid of me?

After submitting my earlier reply I went back to MOL and tried to search using the part number for the Astro Portable and Mobile software and low and behold the software comes up by searching for it but won't appear under any of the radio's in the online catalog. I'm not sure why but as long as I can find it by doing a search I'm happy.

software usually doesn't show up in MOL, it's not flagged as displayable, but some various radios do have it shown. you've found a couple examples
