GP300 speaker audio output

Post by Satelite »

Hello :
I have a VHF hi band GP300 that when you turn it on the volume is completely gone if you turn it up to normal setting with the volume control.
If you turn it down so that its just barely turned up = you can hear it.
I have checked the speaker and also tried a speaker mike with the same results.
I have bypassed the audio jack and still the same problem.
I have replaced the volume control and still have the problem .
So i last tried changing out the audio chip component U-409 and that didnt solve the problem eigther.
It acts like the more you turn the audio up with the volume control that it sorta shorts out or something.
Its a P93YPC20A2 .
Anyone run across this or have an idea or two ?
Thank you 8)
