Blown Finals on an MCS2000

Post by rrfd43 »

Ok, I found that little antenna connection on my 900 MCS2000 remote mount radio had viborated off. In the time it was off it blew out the finals. Is this radio serviceable or does it have to visit the Depot???

Those that repair: what would a cost estimate look like?

Easily serviceable with the proper tools, as the power amplifier is a single self-contained package. The part isn't cheap though...I'd guess most dealers would charge at least $250 to replace it, but my pricing could be off as I'm not familiar with U.S. pricing.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
