CDM 1250 More than 16 channels in a zone?
First time programming one of these and adding in extra channels to a codeplug that is already there. Using the standard CPS. How do you add more than 16 channels in one zone. Changing zones is too complicated for the users. Need to be able to scroll thru all of the channels with the UP/DOWN buttons on the front of the radio. I understand this can be done, but I have not been able to figure it out in the CPS. This may end up seeming like a silly question when I get thru, but I have tired and cannot figure it out. When I try to right click on the channel field under "personality assignment to zone", it allows me to "add to end" up to channel 16, but then the field becomes greyed out. Any help guys?
Thanks,
-Justin

You may need to update the firmware in the radio.

Very well could be. They have been installed and around for a number of years. And I know for a fact the firmware has not been updated. Any other suggestions or ideas guys?

Using the most recent firmware(R05.07.02) and the current CPS, you can include up to 64 personalities per zone. If you look at the channels
- tab in the zone you're using and right-click on the last personality in the leftmost column of the list, you should see a popup menu that allows you to add an item to the end of the list.

I am guessing then that I have a firmware issue. These radios are all firmware revision R02.00.02. So nothing near the current. I am using the latest version of the CPS that they sent us, so that is not the issue. I guess I am back to the drawing board and make a new channel list with zones and these people will just have to learn how to use the zone functions.

Why not upgrade the F/W to the current version or have it upgraded?

Re: CDM 1250 More than 16 channels in a zone?
This is a fleet of radios, 47 radios. I am trying to update them all. Thank you, that is awful nice of you HLA to offer to assist me with the problem and upgrade the firmware. The firmware is old, but yes, as was stated above, it will allow up to 64 channels in 1 zone.
I had the two different CPS versions reverse named. The old one named the new one and the new one named the old one. Hey, what can I say.......I'm a bit more radio savvy than I am computer savvy.
Anyway, now things are working just fine that I am using the current version of the CPS in actuality, not just in name.

Thank you to everyone for the answers and time and effort. It is MUCH appreciated, as always.
