gp300 a brick?

Post by cduda »

Hello All.

I have a GP300 which I purchased a replacement battery for. I charged the battery until the green light came on, put battery on radio...Nothing. Put my original battery on, radio powers up fine.

I took 2 jumper wires and attached them to the terminals and then the posts on the battery in case was not making a connection, no power up. Did the same with the original battery, no luck.

So I took the original battery and placed back on the radio...NOTHING! When originally, it did work.

Did I fry the radio?

Thanks
Al

If you live right and you're lucky you just blew the fuse(4 amp). If you take the chassis out of the housing, remove the four clips that hold the large shield and PCB onto the chassis and lift the shield and PCB off the chassis, you'll see the fuse in the chassis recess that holds the small battery contact PCB - it's SMT mounted on the radio PCB side.
