Jedi RF Board Fuse

Post by rileym »

Anyone aware of the location of the fuse on the Jedi Series?

I believe I have an MTX8000 with a blown fuse.

Thanks

Do they usually show pretty easily when they blow?

It looks like it pay have a small crack in it, not sure though. I may try to jumper to see if it is the fuse.

Thanks

Yes - sorry i should have mentioned there is a visual indicator. If the little line in the middle is gone its blown.

to replace this fuse, get the proper value 'spare' and a toothpick, then superglue the end of the toothpick to the SMT fuse and wet the board where the fuse sits.

Place the fuse on the pads and apply solder to one pad, then the other and make sure the solder flows cleanly at the base of each pad.

You can also apply a drop of superglue on the bottom of the fuse and apply it to the board and wait 30 seconds to resolder also.
