I have a lovely UHF high power GR1225 which did not come with the 12 volt battery revert option... As this is going to eventually end up at a site with questionable commercial power reliability, does anyone out there have either a basic schematic or even a substitute circuit to allow the repeater to revert directly to batteries if the A/C power supply drops out?
I've ran through the search pattern here on the board and only found implications of "find the schematic and build your own" - along with an interesting post about programming one of the pins on the accessory connector to steer to a different mode with a different courtesy tone (is that even possible?) when on DC power rather than commercial power.
Thanks!

Re: GR1225 Battery Revert Schematic/Substitute?
Although the GR1225 has been discontinued, the HLN9455A battery revert/charger kit is still available from M. I have several of the kits in service, and I'll look for the schematic. Nice thing about the kit is it's plug and play - i.e. all the connectors to mate with the R1225, power supply, etc. are all there.

Just an FYI, the revert kit retails for $146.29CAD, from motorola.

Wow... That sounds about right for Radius gear...Vercomm wrote:Just an FYI, the revert kit retails for $146.29CAD, from motorola.
It doesn't seem like it would be incredibly difficult to setup just a standard revert as the 12 volt power is just a standard mid power connection just like the Maxtrac, Spectra, etc...
