Motorola DTMF Mic Problems / Alternate Suppliers??

Post by wiscomm »

As I am sure some of your are aware, Motorola has had some major delays/backorders on all DTMF mics for it seems like a year now, Called in this morning and they are "hoping" for a November release.

I have a client looking for 130 x HMN1053 mics, Anyone have alternate suppliers who make mics these days? I am working with Zetron on pricing bu they discontinued the "ZMX" series and are scraping for parts to see if they can fill my need.

Am I missing any other suppliers?

Any help would be appreciated.

CES Wireless no longer manufacturers microphones with "molded" connectors, them, like Zetron do not even seem interested in building mics if we supplied the cables from Motorola (available Oct 2nd).

Anyone have some China sources? Its become obvious US manufacturers have no real motivation to actually manufacture something.

FYI, most of Motorola's Public Safety mics are in the same boat. They say the OEM manufacturer had a chip they were using to get cancelled and they are in the process of locating/re-engineering/evaluating quality, etc.

Shure appears to be out of the game as well. Looks the focus is now on iPod earbuds.

Hmmm...
