Hello group,
I can't remember where I saw it, but I read somewhere that the HT1000 can be programmed to automatically TX an Emergency MDC if the radio is on it's side (more then 45 degrees) for X amount of time. Anyone else hear of this? Despite this claim, I've never seen it in the RSS. Any help appreciated.

Yes, you need the external tilt switch that mounts on the acc'y. connector

Oh okay! So it's not a programmable feature? It's a matter of an accessory connector?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yep.
You need what looks like a Hirose adapter or a survelliance kit adapter. Looks like it but there's a tilt sensor built in.
I don't know who makes them or if they are still made, but I am sure somebody else can chime in.

Re: HT1000 Automatic Emergency TX?
Its listed as "External Mandown Switch" in the RSS. Once you have a codeplug loaded, from the main menu, hit F4 (change/view/create), then F3 (radio configuration), then F3 (side button configuration). External Mandown should be the last selection in the side button menu. Set it to enabled, attach the part Jim2121 listed, and you should be good to go. There are also a couple of other places to change Mandown options, such as pre-alert time (beeps to let you know its going to send before it does, helps prevent falsing). You will also, of course, have to enable emergency in the first place (from main menu, hit F4, F3, F7, F3; this should put you in the MDC configuration menu).
