Problem after install
I installed a PM400 UHF in my GMC 2007 pickup. Now sometimes the display light in the factory dash radio/satellite radio will go to dim like for night and then back to bright for no reason. Is there a photo cell type sensor and where is it, or should it just change to dim when headlights are on?

Music radio is a factory install and never had this problem before. The display brightness changes happened during the daytime and were not while transmitting.

Are the headlights coming on too? The sensor for my 2002 is on the dash at the base of the windshield. If I cover it up, the truck thinks it is night and turns on the headlights/taillights and dims the other lights.
Tomorrow I can check one of the 2007s at work to see where the sensor is.

My '08 1500 for work has the sensor in the middle of the dash. If it gets a notebook, hat, etc.... thrown over it the lights will come on and radio will dim.

I recently installed a PM1500 into a Dodge Caravan and when you keyed the mic the radio display flipped upside down!
But the radio worked fine and had good reflected power.
