Motorola Compass Web Site

Post by MotoFAN »

Hi all!

I simply am interested. I hope such subject is not forbidden by rules.

- What is web site known as Compass? URL is http://compass.mot.com
- For whom it?
- Why it is inaccessible (it even does not respond to ping command)? Motorola uses firewall with white lists of IP addresses?

Any other information also will be useful!

P.S.
I simply try to expand the knowledge about Motorola...

It is used to post updates for ongoing bidding on radio systems and hence locked out to all but the actual customer, who has signed none disclosure agreements.

Sorry! But I am not sure what you mean here...

P.S.
I get info from some private source that this is Intranet (internal web site / portal) for Motorola employees.

From an ex Compass user it's truely not worth it. Unless you know EXACTLY what the name of the article is that you are looking for it's unlikely you'd find what you want anyway. After 11 years with motorola I've found more information on MOL in 2 years than I ever found on compass. So trust me when I say it's not worth the effort to try to see what it has.

Not to mention most of the info there is proprietary and well, could land you into trouble if you aren't supposed to see it.

If it's a private internal site, then it's a private internal site for a reason. If you need access to it, talk to your account rep or technical team at Motorola. I'm sure if you signed a check for a few million for your radio system you may be able to get access......

I don't think it's something that we need to discuss here on the forum.

Thanks,

Alex
