Adding Accessory Switch To A Silverado
Remove the bottom dash trim and the side cover where the fuses use to be. Reach in and release the four retaining plastic clips to pop out the headlight switch module rearward. The two cables can be removed (one is in a dummy clip) allowing you to easily work on the module out of the vehicle. Bring it out the side hole. As you'll see, there is a generous area to mount an accessory switch or two (depending on size) and the unused factory plastic switch retainers can be cut out and removed for additional room if needed. Access to run the wire is excellent. An easy tip to make your holes centered the first time is to draw a light line with a pencil on the right side of the module prior to removal using the dash opening as your guide. After you're comfortable, a small drill bit from the front will register the holes nicely before removal of the module.
