CDM1250 volume level

Post by Andy2712 »

I have a couple of CDM1250's whose volume level seems to change on their own. While driving the down the road the volume will become significantly louder or softer without the volume control being touch. When this happens if the volume level is adjusted it is very sensitive. Any one have a similar problem or know what might be causing this?

Any chance your talking about a dirty or bad volume control. Many times when these
go bad, all you have to do is tap the knob and you get normal volume. With your
description so far, my bet is a dirty volume control.

It's rather common for the CDM volume pots to get broken, they're a bit on the fragile side.
