I am trying to find the Motorola Motorcycle radio boxes, but sofar have been unsuccessful. I would be grateful if anyone has a model number for this. Thanks.
These boxes typically are plain, but many departments tend to just bolt warning lights to it. Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide in identifying this part.
The boxes in the photo look like standard MCX-100 or MCX-1000 housings, which are pretty much the same as the previous generation MCR-100 housings (in terms of the exterior shells.)
They are on eBay all the time. That style may no longer be available from Motorola; if they are I think you will need a big wallet. I am not sure what the box is like for the motorcycle Spectra. Most departments are moving away from traditional motorcycle radios and going to up-front mounted one piece radios such as the Kenwoods. Even Motorola quit making the one piece speaker and head with the MCR-100. I always wondered why...a separate little head and then a speaker crammed next to it or under it looks stupid, in my opinion. Obviously, they would have had to make a new head with the display in it for a model newer than MCR-100, but how hard could that have been...
I just ran across this post - I have these - 2 of them - NEW in the box
1993 ship date on the tag - model number is HLN1369A
Box is complete with all wiring and hardware - still in the package - I was suprised to see the list on these - was just researching it on the web for an ebay listing.
