Ebay Repeater Interface Cables????

Post by RADIO43 »

Guys,

I picked one of these for a uni-directional a few years ago and finally getting around to using it. Can anyone supply me with how the pins should be programmed? I tried what a Motorola RICK uses with no luck. Any help would be great.

what two radios are you using it on? i use the same cable on a small repeater and it works great for what it is. but if you are using cdm's just use the drop down boxes and set the correct radios for rick tx and rx. if you're using maxtracs or gm's set the rx radio for pin 4 external alarm output low and pin 8 to csq/pl/dpl detect output low and the tx radio to pin 3 external mic ptt input low and you should be good to go?

HLA,

I first want to thank you for the help. I am using 2 Maxtrac radios and using the cable that you can RX and TX on both radios. I programmed my first radio with Pin 4 - External Alarm output low and Pin 8 to csq/pl/dpl detect output low. The second radio is where I am confused. How should I configure the second radio's pins? Again, thank you for the help.

The only issue I am having is that you can not set Pin 3 to anything. The only choices is 2, 4, 6, etc. I already tried to set the pins to the same on both radios with no luck. Thank you again for the help.

Pin 3 is hardwired as PTT, no programming needed. Really, only the receive radio needs to have the pins configured, as the transmit radio pins used are all hardwired...ground on pin 7, PTT on pin 3, external TX audio on pin 2.

Follow the wire from pin 3 on the TX radio to which pin it goes to in the RX radio, then program that RX pin for csq/pl/dpl detect output low. It may not necessarily be pin 8, although it usually is.

Ok, I think I have the same cable.

I'm trying to use 2 M1225's to set it up.

My understanding is that I don't need to program the pins on the TX radio just the RX with the 3 pin's mentioned above.

Anything else I'm missing?

Any help or input would be great.
