HT1250 Rotary Knob

I have an HT1250LS+ with a continuous rotary channel knob that I am in the process of downgrading to an HT750 (don't ask). For obvious reasons, I would like to make the knob stop at position 16 instead of going all the way around. I don't have a 4ch or 16ch radio apart in front of me, so is there a stop ring that goes under the knob to limit it to 16 positions, or will I have to replace the whole switch?

If there's a stop ring, does anyone know the part number?

The HT1250 continuous rotary has no stops, it is designed to do this as the radio is an LS model.

You should just leave it the way it is as a different rotary control may not have the same characteristics the continuous rotary switch has, and you could 'foul the works' by doing so.

LTR portables such as the HT1250 LS and the CT450 LS are supplied with continuous rotary controls to make it simpler to follow the programmed personalities, as well as step through the talk groups to come back to 'channel 1' with a channel marker tone.

Two separate parts, two separate part numbers.

Too bad the continuous rotary doesn't work in conventional mode, that would be sweet if it did, PLUS stepped to the next zone as well.

Actually, you can program the control in conventional mode with the drop down menu....I had to program several HT1250 LS portables today and had to play with this setting.

Also, unlike the GTX, you CAN delete trunking personalities with no problems either.

I wish I had to do these more often so I can get used to the peculiarities of both the conventional and trunked varieties, but I'll have to wait for the customers to buy first.

I removed a 4 ch and put a 16 ch in a Waris radio. I tore the 4 ch switch apart and it could not be converted to 16 ch. Be very careful when you remove the old one.
