XTL1500 TX Audio for Recorder
Anyone have any ideas on how to get TX audio out of an XTL1500 for a logging recorder. I hooked up a DC remote adapter and recovered the RX audio with no problem. The VIP connector on the back will not pass through the TX audio from the desk mic. Can't find the pinout of the mic connector. It is in the detailed service manual, but the pins are not labled.
Re: XTL1500 TX Audio for Recorder
just checked a template i had saved and the option is greyed out as if its not supported on the 1500. A similar 2500 codeplug i have has it available (you can select RX or RX+TX to capture the local operator's mic).
The radios i have are fw/host 10. Unless its been added as an available feature since December '07, you may have to get a 2500 or 5000 to be able to capture local TX audio direct from the radio
Other alternative is to interface to a DC or TONE remote adaptor and pull the combined audio from the 4 wire lead.

I've done it by connecting a mic through the rear accessory port & tapping the TX audio from there.JD2520 wrote:Anyone have any ideas on how to get TX audio out of an XTL1500 for a logging recorder. No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

I have done the same as Todd with a CDM1550LS+.
