I am currently building a custom console for my Trailblazer. I was not too keen on the Havis console because I had to destroy the origional equiptment. I am removing the factory one and building a custom housing. Does anyone know what they make the tops of the custom consoles with.. That black material? I am not sue if its metal or plastic..ANy idea where to get some
Thanks

Re: Console Material
You can use either metal painted black from your local home improvement store or ABS plastic (just make sure it is thick enough) at various locations on the internet.
Just attach it to whatever it support the sides (carpet covered wood looks best IMO) the just use havis, jotto, troy, or whatever face plates to hold it up. 10-75 does a lot of customs, check out their site for ideas at: http://www.1075lighting.com/PreviousInstallations.html
I agree that the trailblazer one is odd.. I may end up doing a custom one for my 4Runner because the floor shifter doesn't really allow all that many options

Re: Console Material
Disregard the link, I just realized none of the installs on the page have the custom console, but keep an eye out for them.
On RadioReference.com forums check out the "F350 - Major Install" thread. That is a custom console using Havis parts with "huge" results
