MT2000 Radio Lock Configuration

Post by dsheli »

Hey guys I need a little help with my programing. I have a MT2000 and have it setup with a password on boot up. Well in programing it has an option "password mandatory" I have it set to no. So I hit the F1 to see how to turn the password feature on and off from the radio in the field. The help menu says to set the password to "NULL" to turn it off. Does anyone know what that means? Also I added the "PSWD" menu to the screen. When I click on it it asks for the old password, I enter it, then the new password, I enter it but then I am stuck. It is almost like there is no "enter" key. I am sure I have to specify a select key or something on the side but could not figure it out. Also I just purchased a new, in box public saftey mic for my radio, does it come with some type of cap to go over the antenna port on the radio?
Thanks for the help!

Some PS spkr/mic setups have a device used to plug the radio's antenna
port; that's what's done on the XTS series anyway. You can leave the
antenna on the radio if you don't mind its being there and not working.
You might also try a plastic cap used to protect BNC panel connectors.
