QCII doesn't go low enough??

Post by Pump3 »

Can anybody help me out, I need to program my CDM1250 to Recieve only when it gets a Double tone but QCII doesn't go low enough I need to have 256.7 and 1092.3, the 1092.3 goes in no problem but the 256.7 won't go in because the radio doesn't cover it, This is the tone programmed into our pagers which are minitor 4's, just wondering if anybody knows how to make it work? Thanks And i've tried multiple Motorola radios none of them allow the 256.7

The lowest Motorola-standard QC II tone is 288.5 (Reed Code 138). Most likely, it was expected that anything lower would be trapped by the high-pass filter on most receivers.

You didn't say what the version number of the CPS you're trying to use is. When I enter 256.7 Hz using the newest CPS version and current radio firmware, it shows up as 256.7 Hz with no reed code displayed in the adjacent window. Like RKG said, that's because there's no corresponding reed code in the Motorola QCII format. But it still accepts 256.7 Hz as valid.
