no battery meter on xts2500 with impres

Post by havmedic26 »

I am getting no battery meter on the display of an xts2500 with an impres battery. It did show up, then stoped one day and has not come back yet since then. When I press the battery button it brings up that screen, says date init 10/06, ext charges 47, capacity --. any ideas why?

If the Impres battery is charged at any time on a non-Impres charger, it wipes out the battery's data memory. There is a way to re-initialize the battery, but I can't remember offhand what it is.

I *think* you dunk the battery in an impress charger. It'll probably turn red. Remove it and within a couple seconds insert it back into the charger. You should see the light turn yellow. This will cause the charger to do a complete discharge/recharge cycle and may bring back the meter. Allow this process to complete (8-16 hours depending on the battery).
