Programming XTS2500

Post by dagwag77 »

Hi all, newbie here...

I'm looking to purchase an xts2500 and an e-bay programming cable. I have the Astro RSS up to v.09.05.00. Will I be able to program the 2500 or do I need a newer CPS like v12.?

Thanks,
Dave
My radios:

ASTRO RSS is for ASTRO products - XTS3000/ASTRO Saber, ASTRO Spectra.

You'll need ASTRO25 Portable to program a 2500 - that radio belongs to the same family as the 1500/4000/5000. The current version is R12.

Ask the owner of the radio what CPS version he last used on the radio. You'll need that version (or later)

Nope, you need the same major revision as the firmware. R12 firmware, R12 CPS. If someone has hit it with later CPS, you'll need that version... for instance, R11 firmware, R12 CPS - gotta have R12.
