Can a Saber convertacom be converted to an ASTRO Saber unit?

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this question, but can an ASTRO Saber ConvertaCom be converted to operate with ASTRO Sabers?

I belive the only sabers that will work with the AVA is the late model ones with the hole at the top of the acc connector. The Astros used a pin to accuate the RF switch in the radio

Well, for one, Astro Sabers use a physical switch to switch between internal and external antenna connections, and the NTN5487 Saber SVA radio connector doesn't support that. Other than that, the only difference might be in internal firmware, but having never set a NTN5487 and NTN7227 (Astro AVA) main board side-by-side I can't say that with 100% confidence.

AVAs are getting pretty cheap nowadays anyway, so it's not really worth the effort. I sold the last one I had for $35. Do a search on everyone's favorite auction site for item #230309118320.
