Hi everybody,
sorry for a "Spectra FAIL 001" again, but I'm new in the Spectra business.
Just purchased a UHF-low band Spectra at everyone's favorite auction site. When I push
the power button the display shows the famous "FAIL 001" error. I don't think it's a code
plug problem, because I programmed the radio with a new one. So I took a look at the
caps. I think it's maby a problem with them- two of the caps in the control head are leaking!
Maby one or more of the others are "bad".
I got no detailed service manual- so I just want to know are all the caps are uF caps (as I can
read it on the top)?
Best greetings
andreas

Re: Spectra FAIL 001
Yes, leaking caps are a problem - had you done a search for FAIL 001, you'd have seen numerous threads relating to this issue - including links I've posted more than once to a website with all of the details regarding the caps and their replacement, pictures, as well as recommendations of service techs who can do the work for you if you aren't equipped.
All the caps are uF caps? Last I checked, every capacitor had its capacitance measured in farads...
