There is no entering programming mode on the MT1000. The RSS take care of this for you. You must have the right program cable, RSS, slow computer, and RIB to program that radio. Do a search here on this board you will find TONS of info on how to program older Motorola radios.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Thanks fire_master_21,
I think my computer may be too fast, it keeps saying I have the wrong com port too.
I'll sure keep trying, Gunmedic.

Your computer should be about 25MHz (or slower). Think 486 or older processor. Also be sure that you are running in a PURE DOS mode. DO NOT USE the DOS window if you are running Windows.

I had this problem with the com port, but in my case it was not the computer. To solve the problem I had to delete the file that the configuration is stored in and let the software recreate it the next time it ran. After this I had no more problems.
I am not near the programming computer right now so I cannot tell you which file it is, except that it is small and probably has a "cfg" extension. Make sure you save a backup of everything.
