Motorola scrambler board identification
Hi all!
I have scrambler board with /\/\ logo and P/N 8485762Z05.
It's for Professional Series radios (Waris), like is CDM/HT1250/1550.
Tried Google, but no 0 results.
MOL also doesn't know it (But mine account with the lowest privileges).
It is probably similar to Transcrypt products, but I could not find precisely corresponding picture at http://www.efjohnsontechnologies.com/pr ... ncryption/
I simply want to know model name of this one or/and security level (aka scrambling type). I do not pursue any illegal purposes.
Please help!
P.S.
I can post photo if it is can be helpful.

Re: Motorola scrambler board identification
Part of the problem with identifying this is the part number given. all parts starting with 84 are raw circuit boards (no components installed). The above numbered board COULD be used in two or three different configurations, depending on what components and what circuitry is used. Any other labels present (like one in an "ABC1234" format)? Or post the photo, it might be of help.MotoFAN wrote:I have scrambler board with /\/\ logo and P/N 8485762Z05.

That is a passport trunking board. Usually found in HT1250LS+ and CDM1550XLS.

Re: Motorola scrambler board identification
Why would a trunking (or encryption board for that matter) have what looks like a keypad array on the backside?
Just a question...

It's for keypad portables like is HT1250/1550XLS. Original Moto PCB with contacts for the keys it is replaced with the third-party PCB.boomboy64 wrote:Why would a trunking (or encryption board for that matter) have what looks like a keypad array on the backside?

The 16J92 on the microprocessor is what says its a Passport board. The full part number is 0104016J92.
MotoFan is correct, 3rd party boards like Transcrypt and Midian will also have the keypad contacts so you dont loose access to the DTMF functions and programable buttons by using their products.

It should also have voice record/playback, as that is what that ISD4002 chip on the board handles.
