First, what is the difference between the Astro Spectra and the Astro Spectra Plus?
Second, using the new Astro Mobile CPS, is it possible to change control head down the road later if I want, or even control a Spectra PA?

Re: Astro Spectra Questions
Astro Spectra and Plus versions are basically the same radio. The difference is programming software, cable, and VOCON. The Regular AS maxes out at 1MB, the Astro Plus is a 4MB radio.HarrisonRHW wrote:First, what is the difference between the Astro Spectra and the Astro Spectra Plus?

The purpose of the AS+ was to be a "stepping stone" model before the XTL5k was available.
To answer question 2, only with a hex edit can the control head type be changed. You're pretty much stuck with whatever it came as.

Re: Astro Spectra Questions
That is most likely what I would want to do... W4 or W7 to W3
Re: Astro Spectra Questions
You have to put in a proper s-rec or dos archive for a w3 matching your radio specs. Some people know how to play in more detail with the records.
