Multiple scan lists for HT1550

Post by laramiecountyCERT »

Doing some research I know that I can only scan 16 channels at a time. But I have three groups in my HT1550, one for Public Service, one for Ham radio and one for Work. I have the three lists programmed for three scans an the channels listed for each scan list but when I hit the scan button it still only scans one group. The CPS has all three scan lists and the correct channels for each list. So what am I missing in the CPS to make it scan another group?

Thanks

In the personality programming, in the scan tab, did you set the scan list for each to use? They may all be set to the same list. (Scan-1)

Yep that did it, Was not thinking when it was programmed that way in the scan lists. Thank you for the help on that. Got another question on the same HT1550 squelch related when I unkey the squelch tail is really long and lets out a burst of static that is really annoying, is this something that can be adjusted in the CPS to fix?

Thanks

what you are hearing is probablly the mdc identifier, just go into each personality and shut it off under tx signaling

No I have the MDC signal turned off to make sure I was not hearing it and the squelch tail is still longer without it. Its a burst of long static when I unkey even with the MDC turned off.
Suggestions?

Thanks

I am experiencing the same thing with my brand-new 1550. The public safety users here in central NJ that use reveres-burst on their radios do not exhibit the problem, but it's quite noticeable on my amateur club's 2M repeater & the simplex channel used by county for fire dispatch...

Morning,
I have been messing with the compression type to see if thats the case and will post my results here after I get done. It might be the answer to our problems.

Thanks
Peter
