Does anyone know if a Astro Spectra W3/Hand Held Control will work with NTN7227E Saber AVA
or do you have to use a a NMN6150A DTMF Microphone
Thanks

No. The only HHCH that will work with a NTN7727 Saber SVA is the NMN6150 (and its System Saber-lettered counterpart, which has a different part # but is functionally identical.) And, of course, the only radios that are compatible with the above combination are analog Sabers and System Sabers.

The "other" SVA control mic is the 6169 which is NOT functionally identical to
the 6150. The 6169 will NOT work with a standard Saber and the readout shows
only *********. Been there and done that.

That makes absolutely no sense, since a 6150 will work with both varieties of Saber. You'd think it would be the other way around.Tom in D.C. wrote:The 6169 will NOT work with a standard Saber and the readout shows only *********.
What revision of HHCH and cradle was this seen on? I'd have to double-check with the guy I gave mine to, but I'm pretty sure my kit was a NMN6150B HHCH and a NTN7727E cradle. Both were Indiana State Police surplus, and the cradle might've had a SP01 suffix.
