CP200 Bad Audio

Post by johnny1225 »

I have about 5 CP200 UHF Radio's that have bad audio during start up. When you turn the Vol switch on, it is like a loud blast then it is ok. The audio works fine, then when you turn the volume up to about 1/2 way it going all crazy again with a blast of distortion. Then when you turn it up all the way it going back to normal again. It works with the internal speaker and with a accy in the jack same thing. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be or point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

try replacing the coupling cap, it's a large ceramic cap, 10uF I think, near the headset jack.
