Nextell Off Network DC

Post by Batman »

What Model Motorola Phones are off network DC capable?

Looking for something that can be had cheap and has some decent off network range.

i know 900 mhz does not go too far w/o repeaters, but i want something that puts out close to the maximum permitted on 900 mhz under part 15 which is about 1 Watt TPO to a 6db antenna.

i don't want some 20mW junker. at least 600-800mW TPO would be good.

Basicly looking to experiment with 900 mhz under part 15 and don't want to spend a fortune.
Thank You,

Robert

You may want to consider some Motorola Nextel i325s. They have an OEM "rubber duck" antenna and I seem to recall that users with these had the best range. There are other Nextels that can be retrofitted with the NNTN5539, but I think the i325 may be the only Nextel that comes with a rubber duck antenna out of the box.

I'd look at the second-gen DTR650s or the TriSquare FHSS radios, personally.
