Hello,
I'm using an XTS3000 that has the OTAR (Over The Air Rekey) option and I was wondering what exactly this is used for.
If anyone could tell me what this is used for, I'd appreciate it!

Re: OTAR Question
It rekeys your radio over the air
I.e. from a dispatch station, your encryption key is reloaded.

Re: OTAR Question
OTAR is Over the Air Rekeying. It requires a key management facility and a lot of back-end equipment to support it, and unless you're on an encrypted system with an authorized radio as an authorized subscriber, you'll never, ever use it.

Re: OTAR Question
I figured it wasn't anything important for my usage.

Re: OTAR Question
The first result in Google for "OTAR" is a Wikipedia article which explains things. Again, is this so difficult?
