We are using a CDM700 Repeater at one of our local hospitals. The Repeater is remoted. I was wondering if i am upgrading them to the new Mototrbo can i still use the same remote and deskset that i am using with the CDM700. If not can you point me in the right direction, what the customer should buy so we can remote the Mototrbo.
Best Regards
John

Re: Mototrbo Repeater
Do you know which make/model of the remote, and what type of remote? (Tone, DC, Local... etc)
Re: Mototrbo Repeater
Will you be running MotoTrbo in digital or analog mode?
If you are running digital, the answer is no. No remotes will work. You need to runn a control station.

Tone remotes will most certainly work on the TRBO radios. I am using one right now. TPI tone remote, ITR1000. Sounds Great. (both digital and analog)
The CDR700 should be a tone remote, not DC but you will need to verify this.

Just to confirm, you are using a tone remote connected directly to a Mototrbo repeater?

Remotes work great with Firmware R01.04.03 makes the pin outs like the old Maxtrac and CDM's

Are you talking about TRBO mobiles ot repeater? The remotes should work with the mobiles in either analog or digital modes. You can even use channel steering to remotely change between analog and digital modes. The repeater is a different story. The acessory port works in analog mode, but NOT in digital.extrabh wrote:Remotes work great with Firmware R01.04.03 makes the pin outs like the old Maxtrac and CDM's

Or are you using 2 mobiles to make a repeater? That doesn't work too well in digital. First, it ties up both time slots so you can't have 2 conversations going at the same time like you can with the TRBO repeater. Second, you're limited to one talkgroup. It's kind of a waste of digital capability.
