Anyone have a recommendation for a nice compact speaker that will work with the high tier mobiles without killing the audio circuit? (spectra/XTL's, etc)
Even better would be....does anyone have a compact audio combiner that will do 4-5 inputs with one output that won't kill said radios? I know Motorola makes one, but their asking price is past the moon.

PJ, didin't know if it was ok to post an ebay ad that wasn't mine. I've used something similar to this in the past for your application.

Only thing I did with radios that aren't grounded audio, I took a rat shack perfboard and 8 ohm to 8 ohm audio transformers from jameco for $1.79 each to isolate them. I've not used this exact brand combiner/audio mixer before but it's pretty damn close and it runs on 12-28v range. I don't think they make the one I used in the past anymore. I can't remember the audio out to the speaker but if it's not loud enough I figure a convertacomm amp speaker would work for it ok.
Didn't know if that would help any or not. for small speakers we use the ones that were in the hard install cell mounts but the audio on them isn't that great and they have to be out where they can be heard.

SSN4005A is a 4 ohm small speaker used in car cellphone installs. There is a 8 ohm version too. Also check on the small external speakers used with the Maxtrac/Radius mobiles.
