CPS & Cable compatibility for GM600

Post by FranckOLS »

Hello,

I do have a trouble to programm my Motorola GM600 (Type : MD534AB / model : M08RHF4CK3CN)
I use a Ribless cable which is supposed to allow GM600 programmation : (see description here http://www.virtualvillage.fr/Items/0015 ... %20Ribless)
I use a computer with DOS 6.22 to use the CPS : R00.04.07 (I didn't find more recent CPS...)

Unfortunatly each time I try to read my GM600 with this RSS, I get the message "RADIO IS NOT RESPONDING. Please check that radio is powered on and connected to PC".
Of course the radio is On and connected on my computer with this Ribless Cable... I verified the port configuration and everything is Ok.
I tried another Ribless Câble (with less connectors but also supposed to programm GM600 but I still have the same message)

Would anyone have the solution to programm it ?

Thanks,

Franck V.

I believe for the older Motorola that "KAWA" brand 5 in 1 cable requires external power source. Do you have a 9V DC power source, like a 9 volt battery connected to the red and black leads? I have used the same cable and on the US models of GM and SM series the power light on the interface comes on as soon as you plug it into the mic jack but it still required an external power source. The Waris series mobiles and portables did not.

Hello John,
Thanks for your answer.
I connect everytime the GM600 on an external power supply so the device is on when I try to read it with the CPS...

Although I have no experience of this rib (I have built my own),
I troubleshoot most of these problems using this simple tester:
http://store.cwc-group.com/rsqutedbmato.html
(you'll need also a couple of 9/25 adapters)
There are 10 kind of people: Those who understand binary and those who don't.
