Programming Cable and CPS

I am a volunteer for my towns Rescue Squad and we are looking to purchase the proper programming cables for MT/MTS2000 and HT1250 radios. Is it possible to purchase from a dealer? also We need the CPS for the HT1250 series, do we have to purchase direct from /\/\otorola or can this be done thru a dealer?

The cables can be purchased just about anywhere, You have many options to choose from, You can either get a RIB Box and cables from /\/\otorola, for the HT1250 your looking at spending over $200 for RIB and cable, The other option you have is to purchase either a USB or Serial RIBLESS cable off of e-bay or other online store. They will be much cheaper (Serial is the way to go as USB isn't perfect when programming radios)

No matter which route you take, you would need to sign a contract with /\/\otorola and pay a hefty price for their software. in the $300 range for newer radios.

Cables usually can also be purchased through a Dealer, but software must be purchased through /\/\otorola!!
