Motorola iDEN M710

Post by Jim1348 »

After having some discussion about the Motorola iDEN M710 on the other http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=83547 post, I am just wondering how much additional range one can expect with something like this vs. a regular handset?

That depends a lot on the antenna used. A glass mount will give you slightly-improved performance, a real NMO hard-mounted antenna will help a lot and a high-gain NMO antenna will help a whole lot. Remember, even with the additional TX power it still can't talk to what it can't hear.

Otherwise, I'd expect on-par performance with the M370s. Until they get, like, a lot cheaper I'm not going to try one though.
