Need Help Decoding Model # on MTVA Control Unit.

Hello,

I am looking here to see if anyone can help me determine the parameters on this Jedi MTVA Control Unit. Thank you in advance.

Here is all I have:
It states on It UHF MTVA Control Unit, So I know Its UHF.

TANAPA = NTN 1324B
Model # = N1671B
Option = Q149AA

Would like to know what Band split it is?
Would like to know Wattage on the amp?

I cant help you with info on what you have but perhaps we can get a thread going on the various MTVA model numbers which this web site seems to lack and perhaps the MTSX model specific info can be updated to reflect this threads info.

and

RF coax is used between the holder and the control unit when equipped with the RFPA option.

My only question is, and you may have already answered it, since I have the NTN1324 B is that a higher wattage?
The NTN1324 A that you replied with was 25W. Is that the only thing listed in your book?

In general, the letter simply indicates a revision, A, B, C, D, etc..
Different power levels would be a different model number.

I just wanted to add to this discussion,the VHF control unit that I have NTN1323B does more than 25w. It will do about 38-40 watts . This is the only one I have owned and have never checked the A models. Did M make a software for adjusting the rf amp control units?

The power levels are drive level dependant. (ie: 2.0w in for 25w out on vhf/uhf)
per the manual, low power should be used when using a RFPA.
proper drive levels are 2.0w for vhf/uhf, 3.2w for 800, and 2.9w for 900.

I would certainly check the output on a service monitor for any signs of clipping or splatter if attempting to drive the RFPA at higher power levels.

I have never seen a manual for one of these and I did not know that. A guy I know has one that was set up for him with the factory power amp@ 25w and it is fed into a 25w in and 100w out RF amp. Its VHF on 160 band with a JT1000 and it sounds like a Maratrac. It was done by a M tech in another state because he needed a keypad programable moble for use with the track gangs that rome the whole system. I thought it would fail after a while but its been in service for 6-7 years.

I realize this post is old. This is terrific information on the MTVA Control yet I have an additional question. My unit (N1671B) has an additional wire soldered into pin 20 of the 25pin Interconnect port. The line has an in line power fuse between the 25 pin and the connector on the other end.

Does anyone have a pinout of the 25 pin interconnect or does anyone know what this would be for?
