Corrupted PR400 V 3.00.04 Codeplug

Post by rj_bart »

I read then attempted to write the codeplug in a PR400 with FW 3.00.04 today. Now CPS returns error 2114 - corrupted codeplug, when trying to write or do anything to the radio.

Tried the codeplug repair/patch utility. Says it works, radio beeps, but then using CPS R05.07, I expect to recover the radio...instead it returns the same error when trying to read or write the radio.

Any other ideas? Something I am missing? Or, do I just pay the $199 flat rate repair in this case....?

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
have you tried upgrading to 5.08 cps and/or a firmware upgrade? If all else fails, I will be happy to take a look at it before you spend the $200. FatBoy
......I understand what the package says sir, but you cannot talk 28 miles with 3 AA batteries.......

Didn't /\/\ release a utility to deal with the corrupted codeplug issue on the Commercial Series radios?

Yes, it seems OP tried it, without success. I've seen it help about 50% of the time. As for OP, I don't think that tool was designed to recover firmware that old, mostly it was 3.01.xx and 3.02.xx firmware that had the major defect that led to the FSB and this utility.

Other than trying a firmware upgrade, there's not much that can be done through official channels except a trip to the depot.

If the radio happens to still be under warranty it would be covered, but judging from the firmware version that time has long come and past.

You can fix it easy in the same way as for the Waris radios!
