Hi All,
I have a 7.2v 2100mah Ni-Cd battery that I use for a MTS2K. What should the voltage read upon removing it from the charger that has indicated a full charge? Should it be about 8v, 8.25v or what range should I be seeing on the meter? It seems the battery may be "false peaking" on me and I am trying to get an idea of proper voltage.
Also, I am looking for the part number for the BMS + adapter cup for these batteries. Is it simple to change out the cups or does it require special tools? The reason I ask is that some of the cups I have seen show a ribbon cable of some sort attached when the cup is changed out. I know nothing about the BMS + except that my work uses one and I'd like to put the cup in and use it for my batteries also.
Thanks for the help.

Re: MTS2K Battery related questions...
There is no exact, firm answer to your question about the battery's voltage. The 7.2V figure translates to 1.2V per cell. Manufacturers' data sheets will give you the actual cell voltage for a fully charged cell, but since you're working with a six-cell pack you'll never be able to get this data. So, you measure the fully-charged voltage, divide it by six, and see if it looks right. I've had Nicad and NiMH batteries read all the way up to about 8.6V when they come out of the charger, which would be 1.4333V per cell which is very healthy. If the battery reads something around 6V full charge then it has a bad cell.
I don't know anything about the BMS chargers, but you might find them via a Google search.

Re: MTS2K Battery related questions...
The BMS chargers don't require any special tools to change out. Just the willingness to occasionally scrape your fingers or nuckles as the socket is really tough and tight inside the case. The plus is also "idiot proof" so there isn't any chance of plugging the cable in backwards (I've almost done it). As to the part number that is TDN9435C for NiCD and CDN6364A for both NiCD and NiMH batteries. I'll verify that with the ones we have but that's what MOL gives me.
Re: MTS2K Battery related questions...
Yep, the 9435 is the only one we use here and it does just fine with both types of batteries.
