xtl2500 intermittingly fails activate context on dig. iv&d

have about 74 motorola xtl2500s in system tied to the motorola ACE3600 product. Intermittingly the ACE3600 will log an error for failing to activate a context on the xtl2500 radio. We have to key a microphone on the xtl2500 radio to restore communication to the ACE3600 RTU. Any ideas on what if anything is in the radio settings that would cause this????
