Send DTMF Tones on PTT XTL5000

I am trying to program a channel that will send four dtmf tones everytime the ptt is pressed. I have tried everything with the signalling PTT ID etc... can this be done with the XTL5000?

Should be able to do that on a Conventional personality. Non Astro

Open codeplug file from disk or read the radio and save codeplug file to disk.

Under conventional personality, create a new conventional personality. (Note the personality number, you will need this later) Under the new conventional personality, go to the signaling tab. Under signaling type, select DTMF. System Number 1, make sure PTT ID is checked. Close the conventional personality.

Go to DTMF, DTMF System -1, Put your four digits in the Primary ID, Check Leading PTT ID, and PTT ID Sidetone. Close DTMF System.

Go to Zone Channel Assignment
Navigate to the channel you want to have the DTMF ID, Under Personality #, select the new personality number you created.

Save the info to a new file, write the radio, and that should be it.

I tried all that. I did notice that there is leading PPT-ID, PTT ID Side Tone, PTT ID Short Sidetone, and Trailing PTT ID. I only have the first two checked. I have checked and rechecked everything but nothing happens when I PTT. I am running version R09.00.00 CPS.
