Question about Waris tri chem charger

Post by N4KVE »

I just got a MTX 9250 & have 2 factory tri chem chargers for it. The 1st is a few years old & the # on the bottom of the charging cup is HTN9000B. It came with a 18volt 1000 mah wall wart. The 2nd charger was mfg only a few months ago & the # on the cup is HTN9000C & came with a 18 volt 900 mah wall wart. Is the newer charging cup better or improved in any way, & why was the current reduced on the newer wall wart? Would there be any advantage to using the bigger wall wart on the newer cup? GARY N4KVE

I doubt there will be any advantage/disadvantage to using either one. All that has really occured is some respecing and re-engineering to the different chargers. The new charger might be a slight bit more efficient but the transformer is really rated at max capacity and will not likely reach 900mA during a standard charge cycle on your battery.

You're right because it took 3 1/2 hours to charge a 1900 mah battery, so it was charging @ 500 ma per hour. Nowhere close to 900. Thanks. GARY N4KVE
