So i have a saber mic.....When connected to the radio i cant key the mic.......but get audio from the mic. The radio's internal speaker is not muted either.
My theory is that there is a problem with the 7th pin or zener diodes.....however visual inspection of both items revealed no damage...
Help?
(All is appriciated, Thanks as well!)

Dual RX audio and no TX audio in saber mic
You want me to do WHAT with your radio?
Re: Dual RX audio and no TX audio in saber mic
1) Try cleaning the contacts on the accessory connector on both the radio AND the speaker/mic.hovburglar wrote:So i have a saber mic.....When connected to the radio i cant key the mic.......but get audio from the mic. The radio's internal speaker is not muted either.

2) Does the radio work properly without the spkr/mic?
3) Try the spkr/mic on another unit if possible.
4) Voltage at pin seven should be 5VDC without the spkr/mic and either 1.25 VDC or 2.5 VDC depending on type of spkr/mic installed.

Dirty contacts on the radio or the connector not seating properly would also be my 1st guess. A pencil eraser works great for cleaning the contacts on the radio. You can also use contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip to clean the spring contacts on the mic connector.
