HT1250 Zone question
I just programmed my HT1250. I assigned front button 3 to ZONE. the button will not work. What do I need to do to use that button to change Zones? I have 3 zones and I would like to use that for a shortcut so I dont have to go all through the menu to change zones. I guess sot of like the kenwood radio where you can assign the button to change the groups/zones.
Thanks for the help.

When you program a button for zone, you press it, then press the up or down arrow keys to switch zones. Zone text will be shown on the display.

Re: HT1250 Zone question
In the menu it says software ver# R01.00.01. The button 3 does nothing, but it is assigned to zone. If the firmware needs updated, do I need a different cable. I have an aftermarket ribless that is serial.
Thanks,
Mike

Yeah, firmware doesn't get any older than R1.00.00... Current firmware has evolved to R05.14.00 or so, over the last decade.
It requires a good deal of work to get the firmware where it should be. One thing is a standard RIB/cable and the flash adapter. You will need to flash the radio from R1 to R3. From there you can upgrade to current. So two flashings are required.
Someone will chime in with more detail.

Re: HT1250 Zone question
P.S. How do I get the 2-tone fire tones to alert at a constant level but make the scan on/off beeps, H/L power, and other function low beeps. I really don't want to turn off but could, I have tried many settings in the software and cannot figure it out.
Thanks so much for all your help,
Mike

Re: HT1250 Zone question
OK, thanks for the response. I dont have that stuff so I may have to take it to a MOTO shop and have them do it. The last quote I got was $50.00 for programming. So I might just stay put for awhile on this old firmware. It does all I need except the quick zone button thing.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: HT1250 Zone question
The firmware update is well worth the cost, even if it is $50.eagle844 wrote:OK, thanks for the response. I dont have that stuff so I may have to take it to a MOTO shop and have them do it. More features, better RX audio, better operation in general. There are too numerous fixes to even begin to list since the waris series first came out. I'm hoping your radio isn't VHF, because that's a whole other can of worms to delve into.
Re: HT1250 Zone question
Yep, VHF. So what is so bad about the VHF models?

Re: HT1250 Zone question
I can do the firmware upgrade for $25 plus return shipping.

Re: HT1250 Zone question
If someone could enlighten me...
Can I program a HT 1250 LS UHF with the same software as used for the HT 1250?
Thanks,

Re: HT1250 Zone question
you will need a different software if it's a 1250 with passport but the standard cps will most

1250LS never had passport, it required an option boardHLA wrote:you will need a different software if it's a 1250 with passport but the standard cps will most
