MTS2000 ~ VHF

Post by k4mfd »

Hello I have a VHF MTS2000 with the front display and full key pad. Every time I try to read the radio it says the radio was programmed with a newer software or some thing. When I bought the radio I was told it was Model # HO1KDH9PW1BN, FLASH CODE 000001-000000-9 and FIRMWARE VERSION IS R06.8*. Any help any one could give me would be greatly appreciated as I am use to dealing with HT1000 portables. This is a different animal for me. Thank you for taking time to read my post.

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

what version of RSS or CPS are you using?

last version of MTS2000 CPS is R02.02
If you are trying to read the radio with RSS and it was written with CPS, you will also get that message.

First of all, I assume you DO know that the MTS2K doesn't use the same software as the HT1000?

The MTS2000 uses DOS based MTSX RSS software and the last version issued was R06.08.00, although it is not widely used. The latest Windows version is called MTS2000 CPS and, as MTS2000des mentioned, the latest version of that is R02.02.00.

What version are you trying to read your radio with?

I am using the DOS based program and yes it is for the MTS2000 and I am not using the HT1000 software. It says version R06.00.00 and it's dated September 5,1997 on the start up screen.

R06.00.00 is pretty old. Your MTS2000 VHF has probably been programmed with much newer software than that since it's got V6.8 firmware.

Only options are to have it programmed at a Motorola dealer or buy new s/w version.

Where can you buy the new software? I am thinking of just selling this radio and going with some thing else. Thanks for all the help.
