After reading up on volume issues with Jedi radios, I've concluded that I need to replace the volume pot. Have another working radio that I was going to take the part from but wanted to ask those that have replaced them to see how tough they are to replace.
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Replacing volume pot Jedi series
Although it is possible to replace the volume pot its not practical due to the heat that must be applied to the flex cable in order to remove the original pot and solder in the new one. It is a lot more advisable to replace the entire NTN7087 flex assembly which has the volume pot, rotary chan switch and abc switch all inlcluded in the one assembly.

I agree with the above poster. Also the assy is very easy to replace. No more than 10 minutes for the whole job. Practice on the parts radio. GARY N4KVE
