HT1250LS+ password

Post by Radio Crazy »

Help, I bought a HT1250LS+ onebay with a busted LCD fixed it an now it looks good and working fine with one problem, when I try to read it with my Licensed copy of CPS it askes for a password. Is there any way around this, I called Motorola support and theyy said the only thing to do is clone it to another radio of the same model, that I don't have LS+ I do have a LS and even if it can be done, won't that just lock HT1250 LS. They also suggested to send it into depot, and at very handsome cost. Is there any limited keypad sequence that I can do to find the radio lock password, thanks for any help.

So you're saying you've tried both methods detailed in this thread?

http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.p ... sword+hack

Basically you have two routes to take. You can use a program called "Winhex" to find the password in Windows memory. That method takes a bit of practivce, but no modification of the CPS is necessary. The second method is to modify your CPS to ignore the password using Hex Workshop. The addresses to change varies depending on which version software you are using. Both of these methods are proven to work. If you're not very computer savvy and you're looking for an 'easier' way, there is none, other than the cloning of an identical model, so you might need to find someone who can do it for you.

I have tried winhex, and could not find the pass word, and I have tried hex workshop and can't find the bits that have to be changed inthe Newest CPS I have which is 6.10.04 probably sending it back to Motorola for the unlock, costly, but I just can't find the solution.

Somebody here on the board could likely fix you up for a whole lot less if you shipped it to them. Feel free to send it to me if you're located in Canada, otherwise ask if someone else can lend a hand as cross-border stuff is a hassle for me.

Thanks Todd, and where should I put the add for help? in the buy and sell? Or in this part of the forum.

Thank you and of course I would pay for round trip shipping. Lets see what happens though, another member PMed me and said he would email me a solution with 6.10.02 which I also have and are licensed for. If that does not work I will let you know and send it right out, will keep you informed.
