Ast Spectra rear head HLN6432D diargam & board layout needed

Post by Jim202 »

Looking for the schematic and board layout for an Astro Spectra rear control head model HLN6432D.
I don't see any technical info in any of the manuals I have.

This is a rear head with no power switch in the upper left corner.

HLN6432D is the part number for the control head rear cover plastic housing.

Sounds like you have a W5 or W7 head, but for the W4 head, it is identical to the front head, except the volume control does not have an On/Off switch.

The tag inside the head has HLN6814C on it. Found the board layout and schematic in manual
6881096C77-O thanks to XMO pointing me in the right direction.

By adding the ignition wire to the rear head I have and soldering it to the correct control cable
pin, it should work. I have moved the jumpers required to make the radio come on with no
on/off switch activation. Apply the +12 volts to the ignition wire and the radio should power
up. Just need to locate my radio front panel and adapter for the remote control cable.

Why would you expect to see this error show up on a single control head install?

A rear control head has bits contained in the main IC (68HC11) telling it that it is a rear control head.
This is why you can't use 2 "fronts" as front / rear. They will fight. If you unplug a front head with a rear head connected you receive a 05/10 error in a dual set-up.
I was curious to see if the firmware still checks for and reports if it sees a rear control head instead of a front even in a single control head configuration, or if it's only limited to when it is configured via CPS for dual control head.

I'm just curious... that's all.
